Families in the Virgin Islands get prescription drug benefits under managed care, but are NOT eligible for SSI benefits. This is a huge problem for families on the Islands, because they also lack many other stateside federal programs and the private funds to pay for costly health care. The Virgin Islands also have a huge multicultural population, which receives limited family-friendly, culturally sensitive information.
