Cerebral Palsy Attorney / Lawyer Secures $ 4 Million in Medical Malpractice Case
Earlier this week the Sierra View District Hospital in Porterville, CA settled a medical malpractice case involving cerebral palsy for $ 4 million; however, the exact terms of the settlement remain confidential.
According to the medical malpractice attorney / lawyer for the family the obstetrician and nursing staff "failed to recognize obvious signs of fetal distress for several hours prior to delivery."
In many cases involving failure to recognize fetal distress the delay deprives the child of oxygen (oxygen deprivation / lack of oxygen) which results in cerebral palsy.
